Mechanical Design Engineer

Opto Mechanical Design Engineer | Optics & Photonics We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an advanced technology team developing precision optical and photonic systems. This is a hands-on role combining mechanical design, optics and manufacturing, taking concepts from CAD and tolerance analysis through to prototyping, testing and production. What you'll be doing:

• Design precision opto-mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Use Zemax for optical modelling and tolerance analysis.
• Translate optical requirements into practical mechanical designs.
• Support prototype build, testing and optical alignment.
• Investigate thermal, mechanical and alignment challenges.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers What we're looking for:
• Strong SolidWorks experience.
• Experience with Zemax or similar optical software.
• Understanding of optics, alignment and tolerance analysis.
• Experience in mechanical, optical or opto-mechanical engineering.
• A hands-on approach to prototyping and testing.
