Hiring: Sr. Engineering Manager – Travel & Lifestyle Location: Burgess Hill, UK Hybrid: 3 days/week onsite preferred Contract: 12 Months We are looking for a hands-on Sr. Engineering Manager to lead the implementation of a mobile application service layer (Backend for Frontend) supporting an upcoming iOS & Android travel application. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor software engineering teams
- Drive technical design, development, testing and deployment
- Build large-scale enterprise applications and microservices
- Own engineering practices, code reviews, build/release processes and CI/CD
- Collaborate with product, engineering, vendors and senior stakeholders
- Drive technical governance and engineering maturity
- Support scalable application deployments and production reliability Required Technical Skills Java 17+ or Kotlin Spring / Spring Boot Microservices architecture Gradle GitHub Actions / CircleCI Sentry / Observability – Logging, Monitoring & Alerting Automation testing and documentation Cloud & CI/CD technologies Agile / Scrum / Kanban Ideal Candidate 5+ years of hands-on Java/Kotlin engineering experience 2+ years of engineering leadership experience Strong enterprise application development background Experience leading engineering teams and contractors Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills Experience delivering enterprise-grade technology in Agile environments
