Maintenance Manager

Job title: Maintenance Manager Location: Birmingham Hours: Monday to Friday, day shift We're recruiting a Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance function at a major energy facility in Birmingham. You'll take ownership of plant reliability, planned maintenance and outage delivery while leading a multidisciplinary engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the CMMS, maintenance backlog, contractors, budgets and safe return to service after breakdowns. What you'll do

• Lead and develop mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled maintenance engineers.
• Own the CMMS, PPM programme and maintenance backlog, setting priorities with Operations based on plant risk and criticality.
• Coordinate breakdown response, investigate recurring faults and improve long-term reliability.
• Plan and deliver outages, including contractor activity and work quality.
• Manage maintenance budgets, procurement and critical spares.
• Oversee statutory inspections, including PSSR and LOLER, and maintain compliance with COSHH requirements.
• Ensure maintenance follows approved permit-to-work and isolation procedures. The plant includes boilers, steam systems, turbines, generators, gasification and combustion equipment, conveyors, pumps, water treatment, flue gas abatement, motors, instrumentation and electrical distribution. What we're looking for You'll have led maintenance in an industrial process environment, whether as a Maintenance Manager, Engineering Manager, Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Team Leader. You'll bring sound mechanical and electrical knowledge, experience of CMMS and planned maintenance, and the ability to organise people and contractors around production priorities. Experience in Energy from Waste, power generation, biomass, chemicals or heavy manufacturing would be particularly relevant. We're also interested in candidates from other complex process plants who have managed outages, maintenance budgets and reliability improvements.
