Underwriting Assistant

An exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing, technology-led insurance business using data, analytics and algorithmic pricing to transform the underwriting process. The role sits at the intersection of underwriting, data science and natural catastrophe modelling, supporting product development, pricing and portfolio management. Key responsibilities:

• Analyse quote volumes, hit rates and portfolio performance
• Use claims and exposure data to support pricing
• Help develop and improve insurance products
• Work with data providers to enhance risk selection
• Support underwriting and business development activity We're looking for:
• Degree in STEM subject - Maths, Statistics, Science, Engineering, Economics, Geography or similar
• Strong mathematical/statistical ability
• SQL and/or programming experience desirable
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach Previous underwriting experience is not essential — but demonstrable commercial analytical work experience is very advantageous.
