IT - Data Business Analyst, Data Enablement

Our client is undergoing a large-scale data platform transformation and is seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst (Data Enablement) to join its Data Analytics Platform team. This role will focus on bridging business and technology teams by understanding data needs, translating business requirements into clear data and functional requirements, and supporting data enablement initiatives across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Business Data Analysis & Requirement Gathering

• Gather and clarify business requirements related to data usage, reporting, analytics, and decision support.
• Work closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs, challenges, and opportunities.
• Translate business requirements into clear data requirements, functional specifications, and actionable deliverables.
• Facilitate discussions between business users, data teams, and platform teams to ensure alignment. Data Enablement & Platform Adoption
• Support data enablement initiatives, including:
• Data documentation
• Data discoverability improvement
• Data usage guidance
• User adoption activities
• Help business users better understand and leverage available data assets and platform capabilities.
• Support initiatives to improve trust and confidence in enterprise data. Data Quality & Governance Support
• Support data quality improvement activities through issue tracking, validation, and follow-up with relevant stakeholders.
• Collaborate with governance teams and business users on:
• Data definitions
• Data standards
• Data usage practices
• Metadata management
• Assist in improving data consistency, transparency, and usability across the organisation. Data Platform Transformation Support
• Work closely with Data Engineers, data platform teams, and technical stakeholders to support data platform delivery and enhancement initiatives.
• Participate in workshops, requirement discussions, testing activities, and post-implementation reviews.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to enterprise data platforms and analytics services.
• Assist in identifying opportunities to improve data processes, reporting capabilities, and business decision support. Stakeholder Management & Communication
• Act as the bridge between business teams and technical teams to ensure effective communication and delivery.
• Prepare business documentation, requirements documents, data-related materials, and process descriptions.
• Communicate complex data concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or related disciplines is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in:
• Business analysis
• Data enablement
• Data platform delivery
• Data product services
• Enterprise data environments
• Experience working with data platforms, data warehouses, or enterprise data environments is preferred.
• Strong understanding of:
• Data governance
• Data quality management
• Metadata management
• Reporting processes
• Data pipelines and platform capabilities
• Ability to understand the relationship between business processes, data requirements, data pipelines, and analytics solutions.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, documentation, and workshop facilitation skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in business language while collaborating closely with technical teams.
• Experience supporting data platform development, maintenance, or transformation initiatives is advantageous
