PSV HGV Trainer

Role Description The PSV / HGV Trainer is a full-time, on-site role based in Camberwell, delivering high-quality training to apprentices and learners focused on public service vehicles (PSV) and heavy goods vehicles (HGV). Day-to-day responsibilities include planning, preparing, and delivering engaging theoretical and practical lessons that align with relevant apprenticeship standards and industry requirements. The trainer will assess learner progress, provide constructive feedback, complete training records, and support learners in achieving qualifications on time. The role also involves promoting a safe, inclusive learning environment and supporting continuous improvement of training programs.

• Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience with PSV and HGV maintenance, diagnostics, and repair, ideally gained in a commercial workshop environment.
• Experience in delivering vocational training or mentoring technicians, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
• Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage groups of learners and keep accurate training and assessment records.
• Comfort working in a purpose-built training environment, using modern tools, diagnostic equipment, and digital learning platforms.
