FP&A Manager
EquiTalentFP&A Manager Location: London – Hybrid (2–3 days per week in the office) Salary: £90,000–£100,000 + bonus up to 20% The Opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious FP&A Manager to join a high-growth financial services business at an important stage of its expansion. This is not a traditional reporting-focused FP&A role. You will have genuine ownership of Group operating expenditure and SG&A, working directly with senior stakeholders to understand what is driving the numbers, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance. For someone who enjoys getting under the skin of a business, building insight from data and having a visible impact on decision-making, this is an opportunity to make a real difference. The business is continuing to invest in its Finance function, systems and infrastructure, meaning this role will also have significant exposure to Finance transformation, ERP implementation, automation and AI. Why This Role? This is a role for someone who wants more than simply producing budgets, forecasts and variance analysis. You will be expected to own the numbers, understand the story behind them and influence what happens next. You will have exposure to senior leadership and external investors, while partnering with teams across the organisation to understand costs, utilisation, resource allocation and business performance. You'll also be joining at a particularly interesting point in the Finance transformation journey, with a new ERP system and FP&A solution being implemented. This creates an excellent opportunity to help shape how FP&A operates as the business scales. What You'll Be Doing
- Take ownership of Group operating expenditure, including SG&A and departmental costs.
- Develop sophisticated financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning and commercial decision-making.
- Get underneath the numbers to understand the operational and commercial drivers behind cost movements.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across the business to understand expenditure, resource utilisation and cost drivers.
- Challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity and cost allocation.
- Lead and support the annual budgeting process and ongoing rolling forecasts.
- Produce high-quality monthly and quarterly analysis for senior management and external investors.
- Turn financial data into clear commercial insight and actionable recommendations.
- Support the implementation and rollout of a new FP&A platform alongside a new ERP system.
- Work closely with the Global Accounts Payable team to improve processes, data flows, approvals and budgeting.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, technology and AI to make Finance more efficient and insightful.
- Provide analysis and financial modelling on strategic projects and ad hoc business decisions. What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is technically strong but, importantly, commercially curious. Someone who doesn't simply accept a variance, but wants to understand why it happened. Someone who enjoys working with stakeholders, asking challenging questions and turning data into decisions. You are likely to have:
- Around 5+ years' post-qualified experience, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Strong FP&A experience across budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
- Proven experience analysing operating expenditure and SG&A.
- Excellent financial modelling and Excel skills.
- A strong understanding of business drivers, cost structures and unit economics.
- A highly analytical and data-driven mindset.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The confidence to challenge assumptions and influence senior stakeholders.
- A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work autonomously.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth or evolving environment.
- Experience with BI, data analysis or financial planning tools would be advantageous.
- Experience supporting an ERP or Finance systems implementation would be a plus.
- A genuine interest in AI, automation and the future of Finance. Experience within FX, fintech, payments or wider financial services would be advantageous, but it is not essential. Strong, commercially focused FP&A experience is the priority. What's In It For You? This is an opportunity to join a business with ambitious growth plans and a Finance function that is evolving with it. You'
