Technical Author

Technical Author – SC Cleared Clearance: Active SC Clearance required Contract: Inside IR35 We are looking for an experienced Technical Author to work within a highly technical environment, partnering closely with SMEs at the Met Office. Key responsibilities:

• Work closely with technical SMEs to understand complex systems and processes.
• Produce clear, structured technical documentation that can be understood by both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Translate highly technical information and jargon into accessible, user-friendly documentation.
• Document message switching systems, including associated processes, procedures and technical requirements.
• Review and improve existing documentation, ensuring accuracy, consistency and usability.
• Gather technical information through SME interviews, workshops and existing materials. Key experience:
• Proven experience as a Technical Author / Technical Writer.
• Experience documenting message switching systems is essential.
• Strong experience working directly with technical SMEs.
• Excellent ability to simplify complex technical information.
• Active SC Clearance required.
• Comfortable working within complex, secure technical environments.
