Financial Controller

Reports to: Group Chairman Location: Manchester/London Responsibilities 1.Oversee accounting and reporting across all subsidiaries – review monthly management accounts, ensure group consolidation and intercompany eliminations are accurate. 2. Prepare consolidated financial statements and board reporting packs with variance analysis. 3. Lead statutory reporting and external audit for all legal entities. 4. Act as financial advisor to the Chairman – handle ad‑hoc tasks: investment analysis, M&A due diligence, investor presentations, covenant reporting, etc. 5. Drive financial control, governance and policy compliance across the group. Requirements

1. Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 7+ years' PQE, including at least 3 years at Financial Controller level.
2. Proven experience in group consolidation, statutory accounts and audit management.
3. Retail sector experience (multi‑site / multi‑entity) is strongly preferred.
4. Strong technical accounting (UK GAAP/IFRS) and advanced Excel/ERP skills. Excellent stakeholder management – comfortable presenting to the Chairman and board.
