Anderson Brookes Insolvency Practitioners

Joining a successful, growing insolvency practice as a crucial part of our management team. The successful candidate will lead a team of insolvency administrators who are responsible for a caseload of CVL's from appointment to closure. This could suit an established Insolvency Manager or Assistant Manager, but we are equally interested in a highly experienced Insolvency Administrator who has the technical knowledge, judgement and people skills to take the next step. The Role: You will be responsible for the management of the team, working closely with internal departments, Directors, Creditors and the Insolvency Practitioners in a fast-paced environment handing a high volume of CVL cases. The team deals with the administration and progression of corporate insolvency cases following appointment, including statutory work, investigations, case reviews, employee and pension matters, creditor correspondence and closures. Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing & improving performance of a team of insolvency administrators
  • Allocating work and ensuring cases progress efficiently and statutory deadlines are met.
  • Reviewing work in a proportionate way, with greater autonomy earned by experienced, consistently accurate staff.
  • Providing technical support and dealing with escalated or more complex matters.
  • Maintaining high standards of accuracy, investigation and written work.
  • Prioritising and organising the workloads of the team ensuring all statutory obligations are met
  • Providing technical advice and assistance to the wider team
  • Training and developing less experienced staff, including apprentices and developing administrators.
  • Supporting the team where necessary by actively assisting with the case work where required.
  • Identifying recruitment needs and helping build a stable, resilient team.
  • Improving systems, processes and ways of working rather than simply maintaining the status quo.   Requirements:
  • Must have practical experience in a corporate insolvency role.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Insolvency Rules, specifically relating to the post appointment process and decision procedures in a CVL.
  • Previous management experience preferable but this could be an ideal role for the right candidate to take the next steps in their insolvency career.
  • The ability to lead and develop a team of administrators and review their work.
  • Proficiency in IPS, ideally IPS Cloud.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including negotiation and creating urgency.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise varying deadlines.
  • Commercial awareness and a results-driven mindset. The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Excellent telephony skills with an ability to adapt the communication approach effectively.
  • A “problem solver” attitude, someone who will proactively take on and fix any issue that may arise.
  • Confidence in handling difficult conversations.
  • JIEB qualification would be welcomed but is not essential. We are deliberately keeping the candidate profile broad: the right experience and judgement matter more to us than collecting qualifications.
  • If professional qualification is part of your career plan, there is a clear opportunity to progress within ABIP and, after a suitable qualifying period, we are open to supporting the right person through JIEB with a route towards becoming an appointment-taking Insolvency Practitioner. Equally, we are very happy to consider experienced candidates who want a long-term management career without further professional exams.   What We Offer
  • Competitive salary: £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience and qualifications
  • Support with JIEB if necessary
  • Annual performance reviews and progression plans
  • 28 to 33 days annual leave including bank holidays (increasing with service)
  • Free office parking
  • Staff events
  • Potential bonus scheme
