Java Software Developer - Hedge Fund - London

Attribution Search is partnering with a leading hedge fund looking to add a Java Software Developer to its growing technology team. This is a hands-on engineering role working on business-critical trading technology, contributing to systems supporting 24/7 trading activity across both digital assets and traditional financial markets. You'll join a small, high-performing engineering team, working closely with experienced developers to build and enhance a multi-venue collateral management platform, alongside new reference data and accounting infrastructure. The Role You'll contribute across both new development and existing production systems, with exposure to distributed, real-time and event-driven architecture. Responsibilities:

• Develop and enhance the firm's multi-venue collateral management platform
• Build integrations with trading venues to source account, position, collateral and operational data
• Build scalable and reliable software supporting the firm's investment and trading activity
• Maintain, debug and improve existing production systems alongside developing new functionality
• Work closely with engineers and business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions
• Participate in code reviews and technical discussions while learning from experienced engineers
• Use modern AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality Must Have:
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong commercial experience with Java
• Good understanding of object-oriented programming, testing and version control
• Exposure to or an understanding of distributed systems
• Interest in working with real-time, event-driven and highly available systems
• Experience with SQL/databases
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• A proactive, self-starting approach with the ability to take ownership of well-defined tasks
