Primary - SEN Teaching Assistant

1:1 Teaching Assistants (x2) - EYFS / KS1

Gloucester | Full-Time | ASAP Start | Until July 2027

Reed Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Gloucester to recruit two dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support pupils in EYFS and KS1.

These positions are available immediately and will continue on a full-time basis until July 2027, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact on pupils' educational journeys.

The Role

You will provide tailored 1:1 support to pupils with identified SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, helping them to access learning, maintain focus, and develop positive relationships within the school environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and engagement in learning
• Encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction
• Implementing strategies to improve concentration and classroom participation
• Working closely with teachers, the SENCO, and wider support staff to meet individual needs
• Promoting independence, confidence, and academic progress

The Ideal Candidate

• Has proven experience supporting children with SEN and SEMH needs
• Holds relevant SEN training, qualifications, or certifications
• Demonstrates excellent resilience, patience, and adaptability
• Can build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff
• Has experience working within a primary school setting, ideally EYFS or KS1

Working Pattern

• 5 full days per week preferred
• Candidates with reduced availability will be considered
