Senior Developer / Planning London, UK (Hybrid) £70,000 - £85,000 per annum Our client is a well-capitalised UK renewable energy developer taking a portfolio of utility-scale projects through planning and on towards construction. On a pipeline like this, consent is where most of the value is won or lost, and this role exists to own that. You would lead planning risk, consenting strategy and condition discharge across several projects heading to FID. It suits a developer with a strong planning background, or a planning professional ready to move client-side into development. The Company Our client is a growing developer with a substantial UK pipeline of utility-scale renewable projects. You take projects through late-stage development yourself rather than handing them off at consent, and planning expertise sits at the centre of how project decisions get made. You would be the internal reference point on planning and consenting, working closely with land, grid, commercial and technical colleagues. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and consenting strategy across multiple utility-scale projects, including applications, amendments, resubmissions and appeals.
  • Own post-consent delivery: planning conditions, environmental and archaeological studies, and condition discharge.
  • Manage external planning, environmental and technical consultants alongside front-end engineering and pre-construction workstreams.
  • Identify and reduce development risk across land, grid, commercial and technical workstreams as projects move towards FID. Experience & Qualifications
  • 6+ years in renewable energy development, planning or consenting, with planning at the core of your experience.
  • A hands-on track record of running several live planning workstreams at once, including conditions and environmental assessment.
  • Onshore wind experience is highly advantageous. Solar, BESS or wider energy infrastructure consenting is also relevant.
  • Planning consultants looking to move into development are encouraged to apply, particularly those with onshore wind consenting experience.
  • Confidence managing consultants and stakeholders, and the independence to own complex workstreams without close supervision.
