Platform Engineer

Principal Platform Engineer | AWS | Kubernetes | GitOps - City of London - Hybrid (2 days in the office) Salary: £110,000 - £140,000 For engineers who want to shape the platform — not just run it. We're working with a well-funded UK fintech entering an exciting phase of commercial growth, and we're looking for a Principal Platform Engineer to help define what comes next. This is a genuine hands-on technical leadership role. You'll have the autonomy to challenge the existing platform, make architectural decisions, build better patterns and raise the engineering bar. The stack: AWS - EKS - Kubernetes - Terraform - Argo CD - GitHub Actions - Helm - Grafana - VictoriaMetrics You'll be tackling:

• Platform architecture and technical direction
• Kubernetes and cloud hardening
• GitOps and deployment automation
• Security, resilience and disaster recovery
• Observability and production readiness
• Repeatable customer environment provisioning
• Mentoring engineers and establishing engineering standards
• We're looking for someone with deep production experience across AWS and Kubernetes, strong engineering judgement and a track record of building platforms that are secure, resilient and scalable.
• Fintech, regulated environments or SaaS experience is a strong plus.
