About the job

Quantitative Energy Risk Manager Scotland | Hybrid | Permanent I'm working with a major energy business looking to appoint an experienced Quant Risk Manager into a senior role within its wider trading and commercial function. This is a hands-on leadership position, managing a small team and working closely with Front Office, commercial and technical stakeholders. The role has a strong quantitative focus, particularly around risk modelling, asset and portfolio exposure, scenario analysis and data, but it isn't purely a trading-side quant position. They're looking for someone with strong experience across areas such as:

  • Energy markets, ideally power and/or gas
  • Market risk, portfolio risk or quantitative risk
  • Quantitative modelling and scenario analysis
  • Python and data-led analysis
  • Stochastic modelling, simulation or similar techniques
  • Physical energy assets, generation or portfolio exposure
  • Working closely with trading / Front Office teams
  • Leading or developing analysts You don't necessarily need to tick every box, but you do need a strong grounding in energy markets alongside credible quantitative and risk experience. The role is based in Scotland with hybrid working and offers a strong package plus bonus and benefits. If this sounds relevant, or you know someone who could be worth speaking with, drop me a message directly.
