Software Engineer, Cloud Performance - Cloud Infrastructure

UK - remote Level: strong senior/principal Build the systems that help Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) run faster, more reliably, and more efficiently. Top skills we're looking for:

• Large-scale distributed systems: Experience designing, delivering, and operating resilient services.
• System-level testing and automation: Experience validating performance and reliability and automating repeatable operations.
• Cloud platforms: Hands-on experience with OCI, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud. This is a greenfield opportunity to design and build new cloud services from the ground up. You would lead development and architecture of scalable, elastic distributed systems for high-throughput, hyperscale workloads. Designs fault-tolerant, highly available systems with robust observability, testing, replication, and resilience mechanisms to meet SLOs. Drives operational readiness, production troubleshooting, and peer mentorship while implementing security, compliance, IaC, and automation for safe patching, upgrades, and rollbacks. What you'll do
• Design scalable, highly available services for demanding workloads.
• Find performance bottlenecks and turn measurements into improvements.
• Build load and fault-injection tests, observability, and tools that help teams meet reliability goals.
• Diagnose production issues and improve safe deployment, patching, and recovery.
• Partner with teams across OCI and mentor engineers through design and operational work. What you bring
• Software development experience: 11+ years, or 7+ years with a relevant bachelor's degree, 5+ years with a relevant master's degree, or 3+ years with a relevant doctorate.
• 4+ years delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• 5+ years in system-level testing and automation.
• 3+ years of academic or professional experience with cloud platforms.
