Leo RegTech

Leo RegTech Ltd is a RegTech firm that provides a highly configurable software platform - including Eva, our AI compliance assistant, to the financial industry. We're seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our busy London-based regulatory technology team. The Leo software empowers our clients' Compliance Officers to stay on top of their compliance obligations while enabling their staff to fulfil them effortlessly. Eva already reviews financial promotions for regulated firms, and we are now extending it to the US - so making sure our AI gives reliable, tested answers is central to this role.  With operations in London, Paris and New York, we offer a competitive salary, hybrid/flexible working options, and benefits including pension and private healthcare. You'll have direct input on the design and implementation of core features, opportunities to work with API interfaces to third-party data providers, and a hands-on role in testing and evaluating our AI features - using the latest AI engineering tools every day. As a Leo Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing code in C# .NET and React at high velocity to address business needs
  • Debugging code to maintain high code quality.
  • Collaborating closely in an Agile environment with developers and product managers
  • Conducting peer code reviews and ensuring adherence to secure coding practices
  • Using AI coding agents to facilitate efficient software development, and reviewing and testing what they produce. AI assists our developers but doesn't replace them or their analytical thinking.
  • Building and maintaining automated tests (unit, integration and end-to-end) so that every change is checked before it goes live.
  • Working with our compliance specialists, who define what a correct review looks like, to turn their expected results into robust features.
  • Participating in the product requirements analysis.
  • Reporting project status and development at project meetings. Required skills for this role:
  • At least 5 years of proven commercial experience as a developer using C# .NET and React.
  • Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework in a Windows environment, SQL Server and design/architectural patterns (e.g. model-view-controller, controller-service-repository), REST API, Entity Framework, Azure or similar hosted services.
  • Experience developing integrations with external authenticated APIs
  • Experience developing UX improvements.
  • Working knowledge of Python and pytest.
  • Regular, hands-on use of AI developer tools (e.g. Codex, Claude Code, etc), with the judgement to check and test what they produce.
  • Experience writing automated tests, including end-to-end browser tests (Playwright preferred). Proficiency in Git and standard version control workflows (pull requests, branching strategies).
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills. Preferable skills:
  • Interest in the regulatory industry, UK FCA and SEC/FINRA regulations
  • Familiarity with LLM evaluation & observability platforms and development of AI-powered applications.
  • Experience working with Azure OpenAI or other LLM APIs, including structured outputs.
  • Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, prompt engineering, or vector databases.
  • Experience setting up CI pipelines that run tests automatically on every change
