Procurement Assistant

Procurement Assistant Are you looking to build your career in procurement and purchasing within a growing engineering and manufacturing business? We're working with an innovative organisation in Chippenham who are looking for a Procurement Assistant to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone with some experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory or administration who wants to develop their skills and progress towards becoming a Buyer. What you'll be doing:

• Raising, issuing and tracking purchase orders
• Liaising with suppliers and chasing delivery dates
• Helping ensure materials arrive on time for production
• Requesting and comparing supplier quotations
• Maintaining supplier information, pricing and lead times
• Supporting stock and inventory management
• Resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, deliveries and invoices
• Working closely with production, engineering, stores and finance
• Supporting supplier performance and procurement reporting What we're looking for:
• Around 1–2 years' experience within purchasing, procurement, supply chain, inventory or a similar administrative role
• Manufacturing or engineering experience would be a bonus
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems
• Good Excel skills
• An understanding of lead times, stock and purchasing processes
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Confident communicating with suppliers
