Infrastructure Software Developer (Python) – Trading Firm – London – £140,000 + generous bonus I'm working with a London-based trading firm that's investing heavily in how its infrastructure is built, and they're hiring a Python developer to write the software that runs it.

  • Established, technology-driven trading business
  • Small, collaborative engineering team
  • Real appetite to treat infrastructure as a software problem This is a development role first and foremost. You'll sit within the infrastructure team, but your day-to-day will be designing, writing and maintaining the code and internal tools that replace manual work across the estate. What you'll be working on:
  • Building and owning internal infrastructure software and tooling in Python
  • Designing infrastructure-as-code frameworks used across the estate
  • Writing automation for deployment, patching and configuration
  • Developing tooling to improve observability and reliability What they're looking for:
  • Strong, current professional Python, with good software engineering habits (testing, code review, version control, clean design)
  • Deep hands-on Linux knowledge
  • A track record of building software that automates infrastructure at scale
  • Solid networking and security fundamentals
  • Clear views on how modern infrastructure should be engineered What's on offer:
  • £140,000 + discretionary bonus
  • Genuine ownership of the codebase and influence from day one
  • Strong benefits package
  • No finance or trading experience required If you're a software developer who enjoys working close to infrastructure, or an Infrastructure, Platform or DevOps engineer who spends most of your time writing code, whether at a trading firm, Big Tech or any large-scale environment, this is a role worth a conversation. If you are interested, please apply! Alternatively, feel free to reach out to david@durlstonpartners.com for a confidential discussion.
