The Opportunity We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Façade Consultant / Designer to join our Bristol team. You will work on some of the world's most exciting buildings, including high-rise commercial and residential towers, academic buildings, and existing building retrofit, refurbishment and decarbonisation projects. As part of the UK façade consultancy team, you will develop high-quality façade solutions from concept through to implementation, lead the façade input across multiple projects, and work directly with clients, architects, contractors and the supply chain. You will also guide team members, prepare drawings, reports and specifications, manage project time, budgets and resources, review technical submissions, and help identify opportunities and develop fee proposals. At Arup, you belong to an extraordinary collective – in which we encourage individuality to thrive. Our strength comes from how we respect, share and connect our diverse experiences, perspectives and ideas. You will have the opportunity to do socially useful work that has meaning – to Arup, to your career, to our members and to the clients and communities we serve. Is this role right for you? We'd like to hear from you if:

  • You are an experienced façade consultant or designer with relevant experience and a strong portfolio of medium- to large-scale projects.
  • You have broad experience across a range of façade types, materials and technologies, with knowledge of detailed design, structural and building physics, testing, inspections, investigations and site delivery.
  • You hold a relevant degree, professional qualification or equivalent, or have built comparable skills through industry experience; chartership is advantageous but not required.
  • You combine strong technical, commercial and interpersonal skills with clear written and verbal communication, a collaborative approach, and the ability to lead clients and multidisciplinary teams through complex, fast-moving projects. Occasional travel to other Arup offices, construction sites and partner facilities will be required, with most of your time based in the Bristol office.
  • Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK at the time of application and for the duration of employment. Any offer made will be subject to satisfactory proof of immigration status.* What we offer you At Arup, we care about each member's success, so we can grow together.
