About the job

Account & Applications Manager – Industrial Wastewater Treatment Remote, UK (Northern UK or Northern Ireland preferred, not essential) Full time | UK territory | c.50% travel | Commission + car Sustainable wastewater treatment shouldn't mean compromising on price or performance. Our client is an industrial water treatment specialist proving exactly that. Their bio-based chemistry replaces traditional metal-based coagulants in high-organics wastewater, delivering better clarification, less sludge and lower chemical consumption for food processing and related industries. Now they're expanding across the UK and Europe, and they need someone who can make that chemistry work on site, every time. The role: part Troubleshooter, part Trusted Advisor. This is a service-led role for a wastewater applications specialist who plant teams actually want to see walk through the gate. You'll own customer satisfaction, retention and continuous improvement across your territory, reporting directly to the leader of the European expansion. Sales matters here, but it follows from doing the technical job properly: programmes that perform get extended. What you'll do

  • Own the day-to-day relationship with your accounts and be the first call on treatment performance
  • Get on site, read the plant and the data, and find the root cause of poor treatment
  • Run jar tests, sampling, dose optimisation and chemical trials, then turn the results into clear written recommendations
  • Optimise coagulation, flocculation, clarification and solids separation to improve effluent quality, sludge volumes and total treatment cost
  • Train operators on dosing, safe chemical handling, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Provide first-line troubleshooting on storage, dosing and feed equipment
  • Spot opportunities to grow successful programmes within existing accounts
  • Support selected new business from site survey and trial through to a stable, serviced account What you'll bring
  • 10+ years in industrial wastewater treatment, with hands-on responsibility for applications, process diagnosis and optimisation
  • Experience in field technical service or account management within water treatment or process chemicals
  • Strong knowledge of coagulation, flocculation, clarification and solids separation, including DAF or comparable primary treatment
  • Confidence with jar testing, chemical trials, dosing equipment and interpreting plant and lab data
  • A record of customer relationships that last and accounts that grow
  • Working knowledge of UK and EU trade-effluent consents, discharge compliance and COSHH, or the ability to get there quickly
  • Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK Even better if you have: experience in food, beverage, dairy, meat, poultry, seafood, brewing, distilling or other high-COD wastewater; a track record of introducing new chemistry into operating sites through structured trials; a degree, HNC or HND in chemistry, environmental science, chemical engineering or similar. What's on offer
  • Commission programme based on gross-margin performance, covering both retained-account growth and new business
  • Company vehicle or car allowance
  • Private medical insurance
  • Employer pension contributions of up to 6%
  • Life assurance
  • 25 days annual leave plus public holidays
  • Professional development and tuition support
  • A culture that puts people and customers above process, with real autonomy and direct, open communication Interested? Send your CV to Alex@hydrec.co.uk
