Test Engineer

Test Engineer – Automation 📍 Newcastle / Manchester / Leeds – 40% onsite 🔐 BPSS Clearance Required 📅 Start: ASAP We're looking for an experienced Test Engineer with strong test automation and programming skills to join a large-scale digital delivery team. You'll work alongside other Test Engineers to ensure applications meet requirements for functionality, usability and reliability, with a particular focus on applications built using microservices architecture. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated tests across UI and API
• Contribute to test strategy and work closely with development and engineering teams
• Apply shift-left testing principles throughout the development lifecycle
• Support CI/CD and continuous testing within pipelines
• Identify and drive improvements to automated test suites
• Work within Agile delivery environments
• Support testing across complex microservices-based applications
• Contribute to non-functional testing, including performance, security and accessibility, where required Key Skills & Experience
• Strong hands-on test automation experience
• Good programming skills
• Experience testing microservices architectures
• Experience with BDD frameworks, particularly Cucumber
• UI automation experience using one or more of:
• Selenium
• Cypress
• Playwright
• API automation experience, ideally Rest-Assured
• Experience with CI/CD and continuous testing
• Strong understanding of shift-left testing
• Agile delivery experience
• Experience building, maintaining and improving automated test suites Desirable
• Performance testing
• Security testing
• Accessibility testing
