Project Engineer

Project Engineer West Midlands Role Overview: Project-focused technical role working with internal teams and customers to scope, design and deliver IT and security solutions, while acting as a trusted technical advisor. Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical consultancy and advise customers on IT solutions and best practice.
• Design and deploy servers, networks, Azure/AWS/M365, firewalls and backup solutions.
• Implement security solutions including endpoint protection, patching and DLP.
• Carry out security assessments and consultancy, including Cyber Essentials, Copilot, PCI-DSS, penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
• Scope projects, define timelines, deliverables and quotations with Account Managers.
• Maintain technical documentation, network diagrams and configuration notes.
• Handle on-site installations and complex technical issues.
• Configure switches, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs and wireless networks.
• Act as a mentor and escalation point within the project team. Key Requirements:
• MSP experience in a project-focused technical role.
• Strong customer-facing communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to make sound technical recommendations that add value to customers.
• Strong understanding of modern IT, cloud, networking and security technologies.
• Self-motivated, organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to keep up with new technologies and service offerings.
