Senior Java and Banking Platform Engineer

Senior Java & Banking Platform Engineer - £700 per day via Umbrella (Inside IR35) - 1 Month Contract - Remote - SCC Flex Contract We are seeking an experienced Senior Java & Banking Platform Engineer to support the implementation of a new banking application platform within a leading financial services organisation. This is a hands-on opportunity to help deliver and support a modern banking technology stack in a greenfield environment. Your responsibilities as the Senior Java & Banking Platform Engineer:

• Develop, deploy and support Java-based banking applications and APIs.
• Configure and optimise applications running on Apache Tomcat.
• Install and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments.
• Work with GT.M database technology and backend integrations.
• Support platform design, performance tuning and production readiness.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security and architecture teams. As a successful Senior Java & Banking Platform Engineer, you will have:
• Strong Java development experience (JDK 17+).
• Experience with OpenJDK, Apache Tomcat and enterprise backend systems.
• Strong RHEL administration and Linux scripting (Bash/Shell) skills.
• Experience supporting applications on virtualised infrastructure.
• Experience within banking or financial services environments. Desirable skills: GT.M, MUMPS/M language, FIS Profile, JDK 21 migration, WebSphere, database tuning and DevOps tooling. Technology Stack: RHEL 9/10, OpenJDK 17 (roadmap to JDK 21), Apache Tomcat 10.x, GT.M NoSQL Database, Enterprise Banking Applications and Virtualised Infrastructure.
