Equifind

Equifind is working with a London-based real estate developer and asset manager, based in Victoria, to hire a Financial Controller. They've built a massive portfolio throughout the UK spanning logistics, retail, office and industrial assets, and have a strong track record of delivering market-leading returns for their investors. With a new fund launch on the horizon, it's an exciting time to join, and they're looking to strengthen the finance team ahead of that next phase of growth. This is a senior hire, effectively deputising for the CFO and acting as the day-to-day lead across the finance function. A big part of the brief is helping to take reporting and analysis up to an institutional standard as the new fund comes on board, so there's a real chance to shape processes and put your stamp on things. You'll also take ownership of a team of 5, ranging in experience and seniority. They're keen to find someone who genuinely enjoys managing people and will invest time in developing and mentoring the team, rather than just overseeing the numbers. What will I be doing?

  • Oversee the finance team, including reviewing work, hiring, training, and development
  • Manage investor reporting and capital drawdowns
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, including consolidation of overseas entities
  • Review and analyse the Group's financial results, balance sheet, and cash flow, providing detailed commentary for consolidated reporting
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts in line with group timelines
  • Drive a major project to implement a new general ledger system – covering design, testing, and rollout
  • Manage the Group's audit process from end to end What's on offer?
  • Base salary of £100-120,000
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Employer pension contribution
  • 25 days annual leave
  • Plus other additional perks and benefits What do I need to apply?
  • Qualified accountant (preferably audit trained)
  • At least 5 years of post-qualified experience in a similar reporting role
  • Prior experience in real estate (development, property management, fund management etc.)
  • Strong understanding of debt and different types of JV structures
  • Advanced-level Excel skills
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent report writing and able to confidently liaise with a range of stakeholders
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Proven stakeholder management experience and relationship building skills
