About The Role We are pleased to support a growing SME in their search for an experienced Bookkeeper to join their friendly and established team on a part-time basis. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional to contribute to a variety of bookkeeping and financial management activities across multiple client accounts. The position is primarily remote, with an expectation to collaborate with the team in the office approximately once a month, fostering a flexible working environment that balances independence with team engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance while supporting the company's ongoing growth and efficiency. Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a blend of relevant experience and skills, including:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, or Bookkeeping role.
• Strong working knowledge of Xero accounting software is essential.
• Experience with bank reconciliations, ledger management, and bookkeeping processes.
• Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload effectively.
• Excellent organizational skills and clear communication abilities. Desirable Qualifications Include
• Experience within an accountancy practice, outsourced finance function, or SME environment.
• Exposure to VAT returns and associated processes.
• Experience managing multiple entities or client accounts.
• Understanding of complex income streams and reconciliation procedures. The successful candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and detail-focused, with a natural aptitude for building relationships and managing competing priorities efficiently. Responsibilities The core responsibilities of this role encompass a broad range of financial activities, including but not limited to:
• Processing purchase ledger transactions and supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
• Carrying out bank reconciliations and managing cashbook records.
• Handling supplier payments and executing payment runs.
• Supporting sales ledger processes, including invoicing and collections.
• Processing journals and assisting with pension administration.
• Managing finance queries from suppliers and clients with professionalism and efficiency.
• Supporting VAT return preparations and participating in month-end activities.
• Maintaining precise and up-to-date financial records within Xero accounting software.
• Balancing multiple client deadlines and priorities to ensure timely completion of tasks.
