Cyber Security Engineer

Cyber Security Engineer (Defender for Endpoint) Contract - Inside Reading or Havant We are seeking a Cyber Security Engineer with Defender for Endpoint implementation and service engineering experience to join a delivery and service engineering team. You will ensure technology is engineered, changed and operated securely, embedding security into new and existing systems, validating controls and supporting secure-by-design delivery. Key responsibilities:

• Analyse technical requirements with application owners and vendors
• Assess security exception requests and validate risk impacts of configuration changes
• Propose security configurations and develop solutions with product owners and vendors
• Submit recommendations to Heads of Cyber for approval Skills and experience:
• Microsoft security technologies (Defender for Endpoint, Sentinel, Entra ID, Intune)
• Strong knowledge of Windows and server infrastructure, networking, authentication and endpoint security
• Experience with risk, compliance and security governance processes
• Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell preferred)
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Knowledge of authentication and passkey technologies is advantageous
