A growing robotics business is looking for a C++/ROS 2 Software Engineer to help develop autonomous robots designed for real-world agricultural environments. As the business moves from start-up to scale-up, this is an opportunity to contribute to the development of robotics technology as the company works towards larger-scale production and commercial milestones. The role would suit an engineer with around 3 to 5 years of experience who enjoys solving technical challenges and working with robotics software. Typical duties:

  • Develop and maintain C++ software for autonomous robotic systems.
  • Build and improve robot control software using ROS 2, integrating with hardware, sensors and actuators.
  • Develop and test solutions for motion control, navigation and autonomous robot behaviour.
  • Investigate technical issues and improve the performance and reliability of robotic systems.
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop and deploy new features. The successful candidate will have:
  • Professional experience developing software in C++.
  • Experience with ROS 2 or ROS, ideally within robotics or autonomous systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to write reliable, maintainable code.
  • An interest in working with physical robotic systems and tackling real-world engineering challenges.
  • Experience with Gazebo, PID control or motion control would be beneficial. If you are a C++ Software Engineer looking to develop your experience within robotics and contribute to a business entering its next stage of growth, I'd be keen to hear from you.
