About the Opportunity

Ericsson is looking for an experienced Problem Manager - Fixed Network to join its Network Operations and Service Assurance organization.

The role is responsible for identifying, investigating, and preventing the recurrence of service-impacting issues across fixed-network environments. The Problem Manager will lead structured root-cause investigations, coordinate corrective and preventive actions, and drive improvements in network stability, customer experience, and operational efficiency.

The role requires close collaboration with network operations, engineering, service assurance teams, equipment vendors, managed-service partners, and other stakeholders.

What You Will Do

  • Own the end-to-end problem-management lifecycle, from problem identification and logging through investigation, action tracking, validation, and closure.
  • Analyse incident trends, major incidents, repeat failures, network alarms, performance data, and customer-impact patterns to identify systemic problems.
  • Lead and facilitate root-cause investigations for complex, recurring, and high-impact technical issues.
  • Coordinate cross-functional problem-review meetings involving operations, engineering, service assurance, vendors, and external partners.
  • Coordinate corrective and preventive actions, ensuring clear ownership, milestones, dependencies, risks, and target completion dates.
  • Maintain accurate problem records, known-error records, workarounds, investigation evidence, and resolution documentation in the relevant ITSM platform.
  • Track and report problem-management performance, including backlog, ageing, recurrence, resolution effectiveness, and action completion.
  • Validate the effectiveness of implemented fixes and confirm that recurrence risks have been reduced or eliminated.
  • Identify improvement opportunities related to monitoring, alarm quality, capacity planning, network resilience, configuration standards, service assurance, and operational runbooks.
  • Ensure proposed solutions comply with change-management, risk-management, security, and service-continuity requirements.
  • Escalate overdue, high-risk, or customer-critical problems and provide clear status updates to stakeholders.
  • Work with vendors and managed-service partners to secure timely technical analysis, defect corrections, software patches, and permanent remediation.
  • Contribute to continual-service-improvement initiatives and promote a prevention-focused culture across network operations.
  • Support knowledge management by documenting known errors, workarounds, lessons learned, and operational improvements.

The Skills You Bring

  • Fibre access networks
  • FTTH, GPON, and XGS-PON
  • Optical Line Terminals and Optical Network Terminals
  • Access nodes and broadband access gateways
  • DSL and legacy fixed-access technologies
  • IP, Ethernet, MPLS, routing, and transport networks
  • Access and aggregation infrastructure
  • Network alarms, logs, performance data, configuration records, and incident histories

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Five to fifteen years of relevant experience in telecom operations, network engineering, service assurance, incident management, or problem management.

All academic credentials must be from recognized and accredited institutions and are further subject to verification.
