Interim Event Manager

  • Location: Flexible
  • Salary: £21.78 per hour, equivalent to approximately £40,772 per annum
  • Job Type: Temporary, 3-Month Contract (36 hours per week, four days considered)

REED Marketing & Creative are pleased to be partnering with a public sector heritage organisation to recruit an experienced Event Manager for an interim assignment. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the planning and delivery of a portfolio of high-profile corporate, stakeholder and engagement events while supporting strategic organisational objectives.

The Role

Reporting to the Director of Communications & Engagement, you will provide interim leadership and delivery support across a strategic events programme. The role combines strategic event planning with hands-on delivery, requiring someone who can confidently engage senior stakeholders whilst managing the operational details that ensure successful outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and coordination of the forward events programme.
  • Ensure events align with organisational priorities and key strategic objectives.
  • Advise senior leaders on event opportunities, stakeholder engagement and audience strategy.
  • Collaborate with communications, engagement and external affairs teams to maximise event impact.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of high-profile corporate and stakeholder events.
  • Manage event plans, timelines, budgets, risks and supplier relationships.
  • Coordinate guest management, invitations, RSVPs, briefing materials and logistics.
  • Oversee on-the-day event delivery and management of internal and external partners.
  • Evaluate event outcomes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Build effective relationships with senior stakeholders, regional teams and delivery partners.

Experience & Skills required

  • Significant experience delivering high-profile corporate, stakeholder or public affairs events.
  • Proven ability to develop event strategies and programmes, not just operational delivery.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills.
  • Experience managing budgets, suppliers and procurement processes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leaders.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working with executive-level stakeholders and external partners.

Interested? Apply online or contact Jo Aldred at Reed Marketing & Creative. Closing date 14th October 2026.
