The Opportunity

A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Brentwood is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join its professional and friendly team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an FCCA-qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a progressive practice. The successful candidate will manage a varied portfolio of clients, oversee the delivery of high-quality accounts services, and play a key role in developing junior team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a portfolio of limited company, sole trader, partnership, and SME clients
• Reviewing statutory accounts and financial statements prepared by junior staff
• Preparing complex accounts assignments where required
• Reviewing corporation tax returns and liaising with the tax team
• Acting as the main point of contact for a portfolio of clients
• Providing business and financial advice to support clients' growth
• Managing workflow and ensuring deadlines are met
• Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior members of the team
• Supporting the Partners with practice development and client relationship management

About You

• FCCA qualified is essential
• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice
• Strong knowledge of accounts preparation and financial reporting standards
• Experience managing a client portfolio
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Proven ability to review work and supervise staff
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
• A proactive and commercial approach to client service
