• Job Type: Full-time (37hrs per week), Temp
• Rate: £13.26 per hour

Join our dedicated team as a Refuse Collector, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of the community. This position involves physically demanding tasks and requires a commitment to safety and excellent service delivery.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Collect refuse from bins or bags presented at designated collection points or from households requiring assisted support, ensuring not to cause obstruction.
• Handle garden waste, other bagged waste, bulky items; assist with skip collections and provision of liners as needed.
• Operate lifting equipment safely and in accordance with risk assessments and operator's guidance.
• Undertake additional cleaning duties, support waste sort arrangements, and assist in the delivery of new bins as required.
• Ensure all activities are carried out in a safe, professional manner, adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in physically demanding work.
• Willingness to undergo medical screening and any other checks necessary to confirm fitness for physically demanding tasks.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of handling conflict situations with diplomacy and professionalism.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices essential for safe work execution.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
• Must be resilient and adaptable to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Flexibility to work variable shifts, including some bank holidays.
