🚨 INTERIM OPPORTUNITY | ASSISTANT DIRECTOR – TRANSFORMATION (SEND) 📍 Location: South East 💰 Rate: £800 per day (Umbrella) 📅 Contract: Initial 5 months We're seeking an experienced Assistant Director of Transformation to lead a major transformation programme focused on Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Additional Needs & Disabilities within a local authority. This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior leader to drive strategic change, improve service delivery and make a real difference to outcomes for children, young people and their families. 🔹 The Role You will provide strategic leadership and oversight of a complex, multi-stakeholder transformation programme, working collaboratively with senior leaders and partners across education, health and social care. Key responsibilities will include: ▪️ Leading the delivery of the SEND transformation strategy and associated improvement plans ▪️ Driving sustainable service improvement and embedding new ways of working ▪️ Building strong partnerships across local government, education, health and social care ▪️ Overseeing programme governance, delivery plans, risks, dependencies and financial performance ▪️ Supporting effective commissioning, demand management and cost efficiencies ▪️ Engaging senior stakeholders to drive system-wide change and improve outcomes ▪️ Leading and motivating programme teams to deliver measurable results 🔹 About You We're keen to hear from candidates who can demonstrate: ✅ Extensive experience leading complex transformation programmes ✅ Strong strategic leadership and programme management expertise ✅ Experience working with senior stakeholders across complex organisations ✅ A background in local government, SEND, children's services, education, health or social care ✅ A proven ability to deliver service improvement, manage financial pressures and drive value for money ✅ Excellent stakeholder engagement, partnership-building and change leadership skills Experience of the SEND agenda and the challenges facing local authorities would be highly desirable.
