Siemens PLC Commissioning Engineer

Location: Bristol, UK Start Date: ASAP The Opportunity We are looking for a hands-on Siemens PLC Commissioning Engineer to support an automated material handling project in Bristol. You will work alongside an established engineering team, supporting the commissioning, testing and verification of conveyor systems and associated automation equipment. This is an opportunity for an engineer with practical Siemens PLC and commissioning experience who can support onsite testing and help ensure equipment is installed, configured and operating correctly. Key Responsibilities

• Support the commissioning and startup of automated conveyor and material handling systems.
• Carry out basic Siemens PLC checks and support controls commissioning activities.
• Complete input/output (I/O) checks and verify field devices are operating correctly.
• Assist with drive configuration, testing and troubleshooting.
• Carry out safety checks and verify equipment functionality against established procedures.
• Support functional testing and fault-finding across conveyors, sensors, drives and associated equipment.
• Work alongside other controls and commissioning engineers to resolve technical issues.
• Record test results, commissioning progress and any outstanding issues. Required Experience
• Practical experience working with Siemens PLC-controlled equipment.
• Previous experience in industrial automation, controls or commissioning.
• Understanding of PLC I/O, sensors, drives and conveyor systems.
• Ability to read electrical drawings and follow commissioning procedures.
• Comfortable working hands-on in an onsite industrial environment.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work effectively within an engineering team. Experience in warehouse automation, intralogistics or material handling would be advantageous.
