Full Stack Engineer

Java & Quarkus Full Stack Engineer Contract: 12-Month Initial Contract Rate: £400-£450 per day (Inside IR35) Location: West Yorkshire (Hybrid - 2 days onsite per week) Start: ASAP The Opportunity We're seeking an experienced Java & Quarkus Engineer to join a high-profile project building scalable, cloud-native applications and real-time data processing solutions. You'll play a key role in designing, developing and supporting modern distributed systems using Java, Quarkus, React and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), working within a collaborative engineering environment focused on quality, security and automation. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-native applications using Java 17+, Quarkus and React
• Build and maintain REST APIs, microservices and event-driven solutions
• Develop scalable applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Implement and support containerised workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (GKE)
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and DevSecOps best practices
• Provide technical leadership, code reviews and mentoring to engineering teams
• Ensure solutions are secure, resilient, observable and production-ready Essential Experience
• 8+ years' software engineering experience
• Strong commercial experience with Java and Quarkus
• Expertise in microservices, distributed systems and API development
• Experience delivering solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Strong knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies (Pub/Sub)
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes and containerised deployments
• Experience with React and modern front-end development
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevSecOps and automated testing practices
