Rust Engineer

Rust Engineer – Product & Platform Location: London (5 days per week onsite) Salary: Up to £125,000 + 20% bonus Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Recruitment Partner: Searchability The Opportunity Searchability is recruiting for a growing sports media and technology company operating primarily within the US market. The business works with some of the biggest names in sports betting and is developing technology and digital products used across the sports industry. We're looking for a talented Rust Engineer who enjoys building products from the ground up, solving complex engineering challenges and taking ownership across the technology stack. This is an opportunity to join a growing engineering team where your work will have a direct impact on the product, platform and wider business. What You'll Be Doing

• Designing, developing and maintaining high-performance backend services using Rust.
• Building scalable APIs, infrastructure and data-driven applications.
• Taking ownership of features from initial concept through to production.
• Working across backend engineering, infrastructure and product development.
• Improving system performance, reliability and scalability.
• Collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to deliver new functionality.
• Contributing to architectural decisions and technical direction.
• Working in a fast-moving environment where engineers are encouraged to take initiative. What We're Looking For
• Strong commercial software engineering experience, particularly with Rust.
• Experience developing scalable backend systems and APIs.
• Knowledge of infrastructure, cloud platforms and modern deployment practices.
• Comfortable working across different parts of the technology stack.
• Experience within a startup, scale-up or product-focused engineering environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
• An ownership mentality, with a genuine interest in building and improving products. Additional experience that would be beneficial:
• Python or other backend programming languages.
• AI, machine learning or data engineering.
• Docker, Kubernetes, AWS or other cloud technologies.
• Distributed systems, event-driven architecture or real-time data processing.
• Frontend development or full-stack engineering.
• Sports technology, media or betting platforms. What's On Offer
