Nursery Apprentice

Are you looking to train in childcare? We are a friendly nursery in Bursledon, Southampton, looking for a L3 Nursery Apprentice to join our team. You would be working and interacting directly with children on a day-to-day basis, supporting the planning of and delivery of activities.

What you'll do

As a Nursery Apprentice, you will contribute to a high-quality caring environment for children.

This includes:

• Creating a warm, friendly and stimulating atmosphere in which the children can develop emotionally, socially and educationally
• Under supervision, you will provide all aspects of care for children, including washing, changing and feeding
• Acting as a key worker to a small group of children and recording observations and planning for them
• Assisting with meeting the personal and emotional needs of individual children
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
• Being aware of the nursery's policies and procedures and ensuring they are adhered to
• Completing all work to the desired timescales as set by Showcase Tutor

Training

• NCFE/CACHE Level 3 Apprenticeship standard for the Early Years Educator
• Functional Skills: Maths, English at level 2 minimum (Unless exempt)

End Point Assessment.

Training completed via work-based visits at the nursery and 4-hour study time provided for coursework.

After the apprenticeship

• Once you have completed your L3 Apprenticeship, you could be offered a full-time position and further training

• Hours: 40 hours a week. Working week: Monday - Friday. Shifts to be confirmed.
• Start date: 9 November 2026

• Wage: £16,640 a year
