Apprentice Trainee Installation Technician

A fantastic opportunity to join Custodian Total Security Services as a Trainee Installation Engineer, based at their North Shields site. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress within their role, and applicants should be keen to learn and have a flexible approach to their work.

What you'll do

Duties to include:

• Installing cabling / pulling through (first fix)
• Drilling holes / using a cordless drill and a range of hand tools
• Mounting equipment for intruder alarms, access controls and CCTV
• Liaising with customers on site
• Updating site paperwork
• Following health & safety guidelines

Training

• You will attend Access Training (Team Valley, Gateshead) for day release– 1 day per week/fortnight and be enrolled on the Fire, Emergency and Security Systems Level 3 apprenticeship standard

After the apprenticeship

• The role will develop over time, and there is the possibility of securing a company vehicle in the future for the right candidate

• Essential: GCSE, English (grade 4)

Things to consider

Please ensure that you can travel to North Shields for a 9.00am start.

Please note you may be required to work at height or in small spaces due to the nature of this work.

Driving licence preferable for this role.

• Course: Fire emergency and security systems technician (level 3), Construction and the built environment
• Apprenticeship level: Advanced (level 3)
• Training provider: ACCESS TRAINING LIMITED
• Expected duration: 3 Years
• Hours: 35 hours a week. Working week: 9.00am- 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week with a 1-hour lunch break).
• Start date: 19 October 2026

• Wage: £16,640 a year
