Apprentice Floorlayer

As an Apprentice Floorlayer, the successful candidate will work alongside experienced floorlayers, learning how to install a variety of flooring products including carpets, vinyl and luxury vinyl tiles (LVT). No previous experience is needed—just a positive attitude, willingness to learn and pride in doing a good job.

What you'll do

The apprentice will learn how to:

• Prepare floors ready for installation, including cleaning and levelling subfloors.
• Measure rooms and help calculate the materials needed for each job.
• Install carpets, vinyl flooring and luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) to a high standard.
• Use specialist flooring tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Handle and transport flooring materials carefully.
• Work alongside experienced floorlayers to complete installations in customers' homes.
• Keep work areas clean, tidy and safe.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
• Provide friendly and professional customer service.

Attend apprenticeship training and complete coursework and assessments.

Training

During your Level 2 Floor Layer apprenticeship programme you will receive training both off and on-the-job. You will be trained at the employer within the workplace and also at Webs Training in Beeston on a block release basis for a week at a time every 10 weeks, costs are covered by the employer.

AA Flooring employ technicians who demonstrate a huge range of experience in all aspects of flooring installation. Three family members assist in the day to day running of AA Flooring Ltd, most recently we have successfully employed two members of staff after completing their apprenticeships with AA Flooring covering floor installation and business development. Apprenticeship details

• Course: Floorlayer - textile and resilient (level 2), Construction and the built environment
• Apprenticeship level: Intermediate (level 2)
• Training provider: WEBS TRAINING LIMITED
• Expected duration: 2 Years
• Hours: 40 hours a week. Working week: Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm.
• Start date: 1 December 2026
• Positions available: 1
• Wage: £16,640 a year
