Apprentice Laboratory Technician

This role will support the laboratory and wider technical team in the development, manufacture, testing and quality control of Permarock's render, insulated render and coating systems. We will provide on-the-job training and experience in laboratory operations, whilst working towards your apprenticeship qualification.

What you'll do

• Assist with the preparation and testing of raw materials and finished products, including the visual assessment and comparison of colours as part of routine laboratory testing and product quality control
• Support product development and evaluation of render, insulated render and coating systems
• Carry out laboratory tests and record results accurately
• Help maintain consistent product quality and support quality control activities
• Follow laboratory procedures and health, safety and environmental requirements

Training

• Attendance to Loughborough College for additional training (support knowledge element) once a month and remotely via teams
• Attendance to Loughborough College for an Induction Day. (Induction to take place on the last Wednesday of the month that you are enrolled, 9.30am - 3.00pm. Confirmation of date provided upon enrolment)
• Diarised visits from dedicated Trainer / Assessor
• On-the-job training
• Off-the-job training

Qualifications

• Essential: GCSE, 5 subjects including Maths, English and Science (grade C/4 or equivalent)

• Hours: 37 hours a week. Working week: Monday - Thursday: 8.30am - 5.00pm and Friday: 8.30am - 4.30pm.
