Groundworker Apprentice

Richard Drake Contracting Limited is a small business in Aire Valley. We generally work around the Aire Valley and Harrogate areas in small teams. We are professional, agile, social, and our goal is to ensure all staff work as part of a team, with continuous training and development.

What you'll do

• Use hand tools and power tools to construct and repair roads, buildings, and other structures
• Dig trenches, lay pipes, and install drainage systems
• Operate heavy machinery
• Load and unload materials
• Inspect work sites for safety hazards
• Follow safety protocols and procedures
• Maintain a clean work site

After the apprenticeship

• Gain CSCS Card
• Gain Tickets such as signing, lightening and guarding

Apprenticeship details

• Course: Groundworker (level 2), Construction and the built environment
• Apprenticeship level: Intermediate (level 2)
• Training provider: LUMINATE EDUCATION GROUP
• Expected duration: 1 Year 6 Months
• Hours: 40 hours a week. Working week: Monday to Friday 7.30am- 4pm with optional Saturdays.
• Start date: 1 November 2026
• Positions available: 1
• Wage: £16,640 a year
