Head of Finance (No. 1 Finance Role) - Circa £100,000-£120,000 + Package | Immediate Start Company & Role Overview Our client is a fast-growing wholesale and distribution business with revenues in excess of £20m. Following a period of sustained growth, the business is seeking an experienced Head of Finance to provide leadership, commercial support and operational oversight during a key phase of its development. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is the number one finance role within the organisation, offering broad responsibility across financial management, reporting, commercial finance, cashflow, controls and team leadership. Managing a team of five, the successful candidate will act as a trusted adviser to the senior leadership team whilst remaining hands-on in the day-to-day running of the finance function. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the finance function and provide clear financial leadership to the MD and senior management team.
• Oversee the production and review of monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets and financial analysis.
• Manage cashflow, working capital and treasury activities, ensuring strong liquidity and financial discipline.
• Drive improvements in financial controls, processes and reporting frameworks.
• Partner with operational and commercial teams to support decision-making, profitability and margin improvement.
• Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
• Manage the year-end audit and coordinate external advisers.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
• Provide financial modelling and insight to support strategic and commercial initiatives.
• Lead, mentor and develop a finance team of five, fostering a high-performance culture. Ideal Candidate We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with previous experience of leading a full finance function. You will be commercially minded, highly credible and comfortable operating at both a strategic and detailed level. The ability to quickly understand a business, build relationships across the organisation and provide practical, hands-on financial leadership will be essential. Candidates must be immediately available, or available at short notice, and capable of hitting the ground running in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
