The Role We're looking for an experienced Senior Automation Engineer with a strong software engineering background and a passion for applying AI to solve practical business problems. You'll combine your Python development expertise with modern AI and automation technologies to design, build and maintain intelligent applications, agents and workflows. Working closely with technical teams and business stakeholders, you'll help shape the organisation's approach to AI adoption and drive the delivery of robust, production-ready solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Design, build and deploy AI-powered agents and intelligent automation workflows.
• Develop Python-based applications, services and automation solutions.
• Integrate AI platforms with existing enterprise systems and business applications.
• Build scalable APIs, reusable services and automation frameworks.
• Implement and maintain workflows using modern AI orchestration and automation tools.
• Support cloud deployments, application releases and ongoing lifecycle management.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and software engineering best practices.
• Monitor production systems, troubleshoot issues and continuously improve performance, reliability and scalability.
• Work with business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, technical reviews and wider engineering improvements. About You You'll be an experienced engineer who combines strong technical fundamentals with an interest in the practical application of AI and automation. You're comfortable taking ownership of solutions from development through to production and enjoy working collaboratively to solve complex problems. You'll ideally bring:
• Strong Python development skills and experience building production-grade software.
• Hands-on experience developing AI-powered applications, LLM solutions, intelligent agents or automation systems.
• An understanding of AI orchestration, workflow automation and modern integration patterns.
• Experience designing and integrating APIs with enterprise applications and systems.
• Exposure to cloud platforms, ideally Microsoft Azure, or a comparable environment.
• Knowledge of containerisation and modern application deployment practices.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks and Agile development.
• Strong analytical skills and a structured approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
