Practice Accountant

Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA / ICAS) - Strong Practice Background Essential Location: Hybrid Working Salary: £60,000 + Benefits About the Role An excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a growing professional services firm in a highly client-facing role. This position is ideally suited to an experienced practice-trained accountant who enjoys working directly with business owners, reviewing accounts, and providing commercial guidance. The role focuses on developing long-term client relationships and acting as a trusted advisor to a portfolio of SME clients. You will work closely with business owners to discuss their financial performance, review accounts, answer queries, and provide practical advice. This is not a hands-on accounts production role and is best suited to someone who enjoys client interaction and relationship management. Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with a portfolio of SME clients.
• Conduct client meetings in person, via video conference, and by telephone.
• Review draft accounts and financial information.
• Explain financial performance and accounting matters clearly to business owners.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the year.
• Liaise with internal teams regarding client requirements and account amendments.
• Provide practical business and financial guidance.
• Maintain accurate client records and activity updates.
• Deliver a high standard of client service and support. Essential Requirements
• ACA, ACCA or ICAS qualified.
• Minimum 10 years' post-qualified experience.
• Strong and demonstrable UK accountancy practice experience is essential.
• Experience managing and advising SME and owner-managed business clients.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Corporation Tax
• Income Tax
• VAT
• Capital Gains Tax (CGT)
• Payroll
• National Insurance
• Experience reviewing statutory accounts and discussing financial results with clients.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Full UK Driving Licence. Important Information Applicants must have full right to work in the UK.
