Blue Spark Organisation

The Company Our client is a leading UK food manufacturer supplying major retail and foodservice customers with a diverse portfolio of added-value protein products. Operating from a high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing site in Devon, the business has built a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer service. With continued investment and growth across key customer accounts, this is an exciting time to join the business. The site continues to expand its product offering and innovation pipeline, creating an opportunity for an experienced Process Technologist to play a key role in bringing new products to market. The Role As Senior Process Technologist, you will be responsible for managing the critical path from concept approval through to successful factory launch, ensuring products are delivered right first time and meet both customer and operational requirements. Working closely with Development, Technical, Operations, Planning and Commercial teams, you will lead factory trials, coordinate launch activities and ensure new products can be manufactured efficiently at scale. Acting as the bridge between concept and production, you'll play a key role in translating customer requirements into commercially successful products. This is a highly visible position within a fast-moving environment, requiring strong organisational skills, technical knowledge and the ability to influence cross-functional teams to deliver against demanding launch timelines. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing product launches from concept handover through to full-scale production.
  • Planning and leading factory trials, production validations and first production runs.
  • Ensuring products are launched in line with customer specifications, quality standards and operational capabilities.
  • Identifying and resolving process challenges to ensure successful implementation and continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with Technical, Planning and Operations teams to manage project timelines and critical paths.
  • Reviewing ingredients, raw materials and processing methods to ensure efficiency, quality and compliance.
  • Supporting the introduction of new equipment, processes and manufacturing technologies.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring all launch activities are completed to the required standard. The Candidate We're looking for an experienced Process Technologist who enjoys the challenge and pace of a food manufacturing environment. You'll have a proven track record of delivering successful product launches and understand the complexities involved in taking products from development kitchen through to high-volume production. You will be comfortable working across multiple projects simultaneously, balancing customer expectations with operational realities and finding practical solutions when challenges arise. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you'll be working closely with colleagues across Development, Technical, Operations and Planning functions. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of chilled or short shelf-life food manufacturing and will be confident leading factory trials, troubleshooting process issues and driving products through to successful launch. You'll be naturally organised, commercially aware and capable of maintaining momentum within a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly. Experience within meat, poultry, ready meals or other added-value food categories would be highly advantageous, as would exposure to major UK retailer accounts. This role would suit an ambitious Process Technologist looking for greater responsibility, or an established Senior Process Technologist seeking a new challenge within a large-scale and highly successful food manufacturing business. Ref: 6998 Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Because of the volume of applications our roles attract, it takes us a little time to review everyone properly and give each person fair consideration. We want you to bring your genuine self to the process, so if you need any adjustments, physical or otherwise, to help you through the application or interview, just tell us and we'll put them in place. At Blue Spark Organisation we believe in authenticity, individuality and inclusion. Everyone who applies to us, now or in future, belongs at the table.
