Then become a Hospital Volunteer.As a Hospital Volunteer you will be providing a friendly and helpful welcome to patients, families and visitors to Bolton Hospital.Volunteers are needed to provide a valuable resource, which enhances patient care by giving practical help and support to patients and staff, but does not replace the work of staff

If you are age 18 years and over, represent the demographic we require our volunteer workforce that reflects the population we serve within the Bolton area, living within a 10 mile radius of Royal Bolton Hospital.

All prospective volunteer must complete their eLearning journey before you start volunteering by undertaking the National Volunteer Certificate which underpins the Induction you will do as a volunteer.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for volunteers to support a number of our departments;

Meet and greet patients, relatives and visitors at our Main Reception at the hospital. Provide a friendly and polite welcome to the hospital. Direct or accompany patients, families and visitors to their appropriate destination.

Help on our wards make and serve drinks. Lay tables, set up trolleys, serve meals, assist with hand washing before meals. Help to make up empty beds. Engage with patient by talking with them or helping with an activity, such as reading or playing games.
