CHEC

At CHEC, we are committed to delivering outstanding community healthcare services that improve patient outcomes and reduce waiting times. We are seeking experienced Consultant Gynaecologists and Locum Consultant Gynaecologists to support the delivery of our Community Gynaecology Service.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a high-quality, patient-centred service, providing expert assessment, investigation and management of women with a range of benign gynaecological conditions in a community setting.

Working autonomously within your approved scope of practice and clinical privileges, you will play a key role in delivering accessible, evidence-based care while ensuring patients requiring urgent investigation or secondary care input are appropriately identified and referred.

Main duties of the job

As a Gynaecology Doctor, you will independently assess, investigate and manage patients referred into the CHEC Community Gynaecology Service.

You will provide expert clinical care within agreed service specifications while supporting timely diagnosis, treatment and onward referral where required. Working within your approved clinical scope and privileges, you will help ensure patients receive safe, effective and evidence-based care closer to home.

Conditions You Will Manage

You will assess and manage a variety of community gynaecology presentations, including:

Amenorrhoea and menstrual irregularities

Heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia)

Intermenstrual bleeding

Post-coital bleeding

Dysmenorrhoea

Menopausal and perimenopausal symptoms

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)

Premenstrual disorders

Vaginal and vulval symptoms within service scope

Other benign gynaecological conditions included within commissioned pathways

You will also be responsible for recognising patients who require urgent investigation, suspected cancer referral, or secondary care management in line with NICE guidance and local pathways.
