SAP ABAP Developer (AI & Automation) | Germany

A long-term opportunity is available for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join a cutting-edge programme focused on automation, AI enablement, and next-generation SAP platform development. Working within a Product & Portfolio Management (PPMS) environment, you'll play a key role in delivering innovative solutions that support AI-driven initiatives and streamline complex business processes.

In this position, you'll design, develop and enhance ABAP-based functionality, leveraging technologies such as ABAP Objects, CDS Views and OData services. You'll contribute to automation initiatives, help build AI-supported capabilities and integrations, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver solutions that reduce manual effort and drive greater efficiency across the platform.

Project details:

Role: SAP ABAP Developer

Duration: Until the end of 2026 (Potential to extend for a further 12 months)

Workload: 4/5 days per week

Location: Germany (Hybrid - 1/2 days per week on-site)

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain complex SAP ABAP solutions

Develop and enhance services using ABAP Objects, CDS Views and OData

Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the SAP landscape

Support the development of AI-enabled automation solutions and integrations

Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-moving environment

Required Experience

Minimum 5 years' hands-on SAP ABAP development experience

Strong expertise in ABAP Objects

Proven experience with ABAP CDS Views

OData development experience

Ability to deliver within complex and evolving environments

Exposure to AI technologies, automation tools or productivity-enhancing AI solutions

Fluent German and strong English communication skills
