Tradesperson

at Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust Armed Forces Covenant Disability Confident Employer UK Skilled Worker Employer Defence Employer Recognition Silver
About the job

Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Tradesperson (Joiner) to join our Estates Team. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your trade skills in a healthcare environment, helping to maintain safe, functional, and welcoming facilities for patients, staff, and visitors across our Trust.

Working as part of a professional Estates team, you will undertake a wide range of joinery and building maintenance tasks, from planned preventative maintenance and repairs to refurbishment projects and emergency response works. No two days are the same, and your skills will directly support the delivery of vital healthcare services.

Please note that this advertised vacancy does not meet the UKVI eligibility requirements for a Skilled Worker Visa and therefore HTFT would not be able to issue a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.

Main duties of the job

As a key member of our Estates Department, you will:

  • Carry out high-quality joinery repairs, maintenance, installations, and improvements across Trust properties.
  • Undertake planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspections, testing, and compliance checks.
  • Diagnose faults and respond to urgent maintenance issues to minimise disruption to clinical services.
  • Work across a variety of building maintenance disciplines, developing additional multi-trade skills where required.
  • Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and maintenance manuals.
  • Use modern CAFM systems (Planet FM) to manage and record maintenance activities.
  • Support maintenance assistants through mentoring and practical guidance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Estates and Facilities service.
