Transaction Analyst
at PEIAbout The Role
Scientific Infra & Private Assets Ltd (SIPA) is an ESMA-recognised index provider, specialised in providing market index, benchmarks and comparables to investors in private markets, including unlisted infrastructure equity, private infrastructure debt and private equity. SIPA provides bottom-up, asset-level metrics of the risk and performance of investments in unlisted companies and their debt, as well as advanced measures of returns and risks of private assets worldwide.
Today, users of SIPA data include major investors, asset managers and consultants and represent several hundred billion USD of assets under management (AUM). SIPA is based in Singapore and London.
SIPA is looking for a Transaction Associate to build and maintain a database of market transactions in unlisted infrastructure and private equity, under the supervision of SIPA's Head of Data. The role centres on sourcing and reviewing equity and debt transactions to produce the pricing inputs and comparables that underpin SIPA's indices.
The position
This is an opportunity for a candidate with a solid grounding in accounting, finance or economics to develop in-depth knowledge of infrastructure projects and private equity companies, along with the financial frameworks that underlie them.
The position is open at both Analyst and Senior Analyst level. The level and remit will be set according to the successful candidate's experience: an Analyst will focus on transaction research and data quality with close support from the Head of Data. A Senior Analyst will work with greater independence, owning the review of collected transactions, exercising judgment on difficult pricing cases, and contributing to methodology.
The core of the role is transaction analysis. You will review equity transactions involving unlisted infrastructure and private equity constituents to understand pricing dynamics, global deal flow and valuation levels, and collect transaction-based multiples for use as equity price inputs. You will carry out the equivalent work on the debt side, assessing debt structures and financing arrangements for unlisted constituents, including the terms of debt issuance, covenants and interest rates, in order to derive debt pricing inputs.
Supporting this, you will research individual infrastructure projects and private equity companies and maintain their financial data in SIPA's database of unlisted assets, including the review and input of financial statements. This work provides the asset-level context needed to interpret transactions correctly and to identify the right comparables.
In addition, the role will serve as a key user of an AI tool currently under development. This includes using the tool in day-to-day transaction research, validating and refining its outputs, providing structured feedback to improve its performance, and helping shape its development so that it better supports pricing analysis, company identification, and transaction intelligence workflows.
